Packing List

Pine Valley is a unique location in San Diego county that experiences all four seasons… sometimes all in the same day! Please bring layers of clothing appropriate for the weather conditions you might experience. We experience learning outdoors in rain or shine.

Be sure to bring:

• Refillable Water Bottle
• Long pants, Shorts, Undergarments, Shirts, Pajamas, Jacket/Sweatshirt, Waterproof Coat
• Socks and closed-toed hiking/tennis shoes
• Pen/Pencil
• Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, bathing soap, hand soap
• Brush, comb, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer (if needed)
• Towel set (hand towel, bath towel, wash cloth)
• Sunscreen, lip balm 
• Sleeping bag or linens
• Pillow and pillow case

Optional:

• Merch from the Pine Valley Outdoor Science Camp Swag Store – order here!
• Padlock (small lockers are provided inside dorms)
• Money (cash and/or card) for gift shop and snack shops
• Camera
• Small backpack to keep your items together during the day

Please do NOT bring:

• Electronic devices (Phones will not be permitted during classes and activities.)
• Flashlights
• Disposable water bottles- bring a reusable one instead, we have plenty of places where you can refill!
• Glitter, confetti, body paint, or anything else designed to make a mess
• Anything that could cause injury to yourself or others, anything that could be seen as inappropriate, anything against school rules, and anything that will distract you.

Students are responsible for carrying their own luggage to and from their dorm on arrival and departure day. Please keep in mind that you will be sharing a room with several other classmates. Bring luggage that will allow you to keep your personal items organized and be respectful of other people’s space.
