There’s no such thing as a typical day at Pine Valley! But if we had to boil it down…

On arrival day, students arrive at either 10 am or 11 am. They will settle into their dorms before having lunch and an assembly. The student assembly gives campers a taste of what they can expect during their time at Pine Valley while adult leaders have a separate meeting to prepare them for what’s expected. Then traveling teams will do their first activity together: going on a camp tour scavenger hunt! This leads into afternoon activity time, which can include shops like the grill and gift store as well as a camp activity such as ziplining or rock climbing. (Depending on arrival time, students may also get to experience their first outdoor ed class on their first day.) After dinner, the whole school gathers together for their first Super Science seminar, our evening event that ties character qualities to zany science experiments. After a night activity (which could range from anything from a night hike to climbing after dark), everyone returns to their dorms for an hour of showering and relaxing before quiet hours start at 10pm.

On a full day at camp, everyone gathers outside the dining hall at 7:45 for a flagpole ceremony before 8 am breakfast. We pack two classes into the morning, which are typically held outside and explore various science or leadership aspects. Teachers have pre-selected which classes they want their students to take so that it’s relevant to what they’re learning in the classroom. After lunch, there is one more class before it’s time for afternoon activities. Then we go into our regular evening schedule of dinner, teacher time (or devo time for Christian schools), Super Science, and night activity before getting ready for bed.

The final day at Pine Valley can vary. Depending on how far the school has to travel to get home, schools can choose if they leave after breakfast, after lunch, or any time in between. Either way, the morning is busy with everyone packing and making sure to check out of their dorms by 9 am. There may be one or two final classes, or there may be one more activity time before saying good-bye.
